Mallaury Davi

Mallaury Davi is thrilled to join the dedicated team here at GGCA as the Teacher’s Aide in kindergarten. With some years of experience working as an aide in elementary education, she has a passion for fostering a nurturing learning environment for young minds. She believes in creating a supportive and engaging classroom atmosphere that encourages curiosity, creativity, and personal growth. She looks forward to making a positive impact on the lives of the students at GGCA and contributing to their development.

In 2019, she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Writing from Loyola University. She enjoys playing sports and pursuing hobbies, such as hiking trails in Maryland and reading biographical books. These activities keep her energized and help her bring a well-rounded perspective to the
classroom.

Eric Handel

Pastor Handel has 42 years of experience as a professional teacher and educational administrator. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education at the State University of New York at Oneonta with a Minor in Science in 1975 and his Master of Science in Education at Russell Sage College in 1991. He also received his Permanent Teaching Certification in 1991 from New York State for Spanish grades 7-12. He will be teaching Spanish in the high school.

During his professional teaching career, he has instructed children at every grade level from grades kindergarten-12, in one subject or another. He has 29 years of teaching experience as a New York State public school elementary school teacher and Spanish teacher, plus 9 years of teaching experience as a Christian school teacher in the USA and overseas in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, Budapest, Hungary, and 3 years of experience as a Christian school principal.

He made a decision to trust Christ as his Savior at age 19 at a college Bible study in 1974 and has been teaching and preaching the Bible ever since. Pastor Handel most loves his incredible wife Bea (44+ together), his two adult children, Leah and John Eric, and children of all ages, especially his granddaughter. He truly enjoys teaching Bible college courses and español, preaching the gospel, creating multi-media biblical presentations. He has been running an after-school Good News Club program at GGCA. His hobbies include kayaking with Bea and eating gourmet health food (Bea’s home cooking).

Emily DeLafayette

Emily DeLafayette was born in Baltimore, MD but raised near Albany, NY. She has now moved back to Baltimore to join the GGCA team. Ms. DeLafayette attended Lancaster Bible College where she received Bachelor’s degrees in both Elementary Education and in Biblical Studies. She also attended Concordia University, receiving a Master’s of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction and is currently working on her PhD in Special Education. For the last five years, she was the first grade teacher at Augustine Classical Academy in Malta, NY. In her free time, she enjoys reading, hiking, and baking. We are looking forward to having her as a part of our team.

Stacey McCarter

Stacey McCarter, a native Baltimorean, has been a part of our GGCA community for 21 years, including 3 years where she worked in the school office. She and her husband, Kevin, also sent their children to GGCA. Their daughter graduated in 2015 and their son in 2019. Stacey has faithfully run events such as Harvest Night for 15 years and the High School Graduation for many years. She can be found at all sporting events with her famous cowbell, cheering on our students!

Girls Varsity Win National Title!

Our basketball team won the NCSAA Division 2 National championship on March 4 in Mt. Vernon, Ohio capping off their season at 21-3. This was the first national tournament the girls have participated in and they didn’t disappoint.
Special recognition to all-tournament players: Nickole Lee, Heaven Fitch, and Bella Pellegrino.

Varsity Boys Defeat Covenant Life for MIAC Championship 2023

The Eagles finished a great playoff run – defeating Mt. Airy in overtime in the semifinals (55-48) and then winning the finals over Covenant Life in overtime (69-65) to clinch the MIAC banner.
Congrats to all-tournament players: Myles Tanskley, Isaiah Leach, and Kelly Turner.

Girls Win MIAC Championship

The girls varsity finished their season undefeated in the league and defeated Mt. Airy 51-49 to win their 2nd MIAC title.

Hayley Lynch

Hayley Lynch returns to her alma mater, Greater Grace Christian Academy as the Athletic Department Assistant. Since graduating from GGCA, Hayley has gone on to study Physical Education at the Community College of Baltimore County. She then spent six months serving as a Missionary with YWAM (Youth With a Mission) in Kona, Hawaii. Hayley is currently a certified American Red Cross Instructor, teaching hundreds of students a year in first aid, CPR, lifeguarding and other lifesaving skills. 

Hayley has served in the Greater Grace athletic department in many capacities including coaching the Middle School Girls Basketball team. She is excited to continue this journey and see what the Lord has in store!

Katrina Freeman

Katrina Freeman graduated from high school at the GGCA in Budapest, Hungary in 2004. She then went on to receive her Bachelors in Biblical Studies from MBC&S in 2011. In the process of earning her degree, she served on the Greater Grace Christian Fellowship church planting team, located in Silver Spring, MD, from 2006-2012. After graduation, she served at Grace Words Bible Church located in York, PA from 2018-2022. 

Katrina has always had a real passion for working with children. She has been a Sunday School teacher, a camp counselor, a lifeguard, a nanny, a kindergarten and first grade teacher, an administrative manager for the Youth Advocate Program, and an office manager for a non-profit youth organization called Teen Haven. She will continue to pursue her dream to teach this fall by furthering her education at Bryan University. Katrina is currently working with the GGCA administration team.
